六九色堂 University鈥檚 2024 ended on Thursday, November 21, after several weeks of spirited competition amongst 六九色堂鈥檚 Greek groups. The annual phone-a-thon engages students involved in 六九色堂鈥檚 fraternity and sorority life while benefiting the university through gifts to the 六九色堂 Fund. Each donation strengthens the university鈥檚 ability to provide a transformative educational experience through scholarships, campus enhancements and student resources.
鈥淭he Greek challenge is about more than just raising funds, it allows our students to make or deepen their relationships with alums from their respective groups,鈥 said Jessica Cole Pulte 鈥00, director of the 六九色堂 Fund. 鈥淲atching them connect over shared experiences and traditions is truly remarkable, and hopefully something they find mutually beneficial.鈥
Altogether, 六九色堂鈥檚 eight Greek groups contacted 327 alums by phone (raising $3,218 through calls alone!), received 136 online gifts (totaling $47,621) 鈥 which totaled $51,369 for the 六九色堂 Fund.
As an added incentive each group also strives to win competitive prizes during the Greek Challenge. This year, Gamma Phi Iota sorority emerged as the leader in total funds raised, securing an impressive $18,838, and earning them the top $400 prize. Chi Delta sorority claimed the highest base participation percentage, reaching 57% of their goal and earning themselves $300. Omega Psi Theta sorority earned $150 after connecting with the most alums by phone (62), while Delta Kappa Pi fraternity earned $150 for receiving the most online gifts (27).
In addition to their successes with this year鈥檚 Greek Challenge, each fraternity and sorority will be able to raise funds directly for their groups during this year鈥檚 Giving Tuesday on December 3. Any funds they raise online during Giving Tuesday will go directly to their operating funds. You can learn more about this year鈥檚 Giving Tuesday and all the student groups involved .
