Krismar Williams ’24
Senior international student Krismar Williams is part of a Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà legacy known as the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Panama Pipeline. She's proud to follow the pathway her grandfather started.

What is your name and graduation year?
Krismar Williams '24

What is your major or degree program?
Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Accounting

What do you hope to do after completing your degree?
I've started to apply for jobs in the Finance industry, so I hope to get an opportunity. If not, then I'll apply for my masters in Finance (which I would like to go to Italy).

How is Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà preparing you to reach your goals?
Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà has prepared to reach my goal by providing me with guidance and support since I came to Nebraska. The Business & Accounting professors at Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà have been exceptional. Professor Mohammad Hasan (Finance teacher) has helped me develop an interest for Finance and explore the finance world in a variety of ways.

Who has been a major influence for you during your education at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ? How have they helped you?
They both encouraged me to improve myself every day, even though I only got to know them in my sophomore and junior years. Their guidance has aided me in developing my leadership skills and optimizing my potential. There's no denying that Spencer and Blake have helped me grow both personally and academically.

What is something you're proud of accomplishing or achieving while at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ?
I’m definitely proud of being a mentor for the Tiger Mentorship Program being able to see the influence I’ve had in the lives of my mentees is one of the things I’m most proud of. I'm also happy to be an assistant at the Student Affairs Office because they've really helped me realize how to use my potential.

What advice would you give to an incoming student?
The one piece of advice I would give a incoming student is to be confident in yourself and not be afraid to exhibit it because there is nothing better than being who you are. And don't be scared to ask for help because here at Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà everyone is willing to help you.

What's something you like about yourself that other people may not know?
Something I like about myself is my story on why I choose to come Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ. In 1964, my grandfather started what is now known as the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Panama Pipeline, which consists of my grandfather's connection with someone at Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà to send students from Panama to Nebraska to play basketball and get a better education. I believe that my grandfather guided me to Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University from heaven and he planned everything perfectly. It was destined for me to come to Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University and continue my grandfather’s legacy.

What is something you've really enjoyed about your time at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ?
From the first day I arrived on campus from Panama, I have enjoyed the friendships and relationships I have developed at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ.
