Who is eligible to enroll in the Dual-Credit Program?

Any sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in a Nebraska public or private high school or homeschool in good academic standing and prepared for the rigor of college-level coursework may enroll in the dual-credit program. Some courses may require proof of meeting the course prerequisite.

How much does it cost?

Dual-Credit Program students take college-level courses at a steeply discounted tuition rate of $75 per credit hour for the 2023-24 academic year. Students may be required to purchase a required textbook for their course.

Students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch are eligible to apply for the Access College Early Scholarship (ACE) to cover the cost of tuition for dual-credit classes at

I don’t know where I’m attending college yet. Will my credits still count if I don’t go to Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University?

While we’d love to have you become an official Tiger, we understand your calling might be at a different college.

All credits you earn in the Dual-Credit Program will apply to a bachelor’s degree at Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University, but are also transferrable to other four-year institutions.

Because Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà is an institutionally accredited university through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), it ensures credits can transfer to other colleges and universities across the nation.

The Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University College of Education is also accredited by the HLC, the Nebraska Department of Education and the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

It’s the student's responsibility to understand how the receiving institution will accept and apply your credits. Universities may request a course syllabus for review, which can be acquired by contacting the dual-credit office. Visit our transfer page to learn more.

How and when do I enroll in the Dual-Credit Program?

Dual-Credit Program classes are offered during the fall and spring semesters, with classes beginning in August and January. Students must enroll in their course(s) one week prior to the course start date.

Are scholarships available?

Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University is a participant in the Access College Early (ACE) Scholarship. The Access College Early (ACE) Scholarship Program Act pays tuition and mandatory fees for qualified, low-income high school students to enroll in college courses from Nebraska's colleges or universities, either through dual-enrollment or early enrollment agreements with these institutions. The scholarship does not cover any required textbooks.

Can I use federal financial aid to pay for Dual-Credit Program courses?

No, federal financial aid is not available for Dual-Credit Program students.

Can I use a 529 Plan for courses?

Yes, please refer to the plan provider’s distribution rules and regulations.

Will I have a college transcript?

Yes, any course you take through Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University’s dual-credit program will be listed on your college transcript indicating the final grade received. You can request your college transcript be sent to other universities or colleges you plan to apply to or transfer credits by contacting Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ’s Registrar.

How long are dual-credit courses?

Dual-credit courses will be offered in the fall and spring semesters, with each semester lasting 16 weeks.

Will dual-credit grades impact my high school GPA?

Your high school will determine how dual-credit courses are reported on your high school transcript, if they are weighted and if they will impact your overall GPA. You will want to contact your high school registrar or counselor to confirm how these courses will be reported.

How will dual-credit grades impact my college GPA?

Any dual-credit course completed at Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University will be calculated into your overall GPA.  If you are admitted to Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ, your dual-credit classes apply toward your college GPA. Please note, if you perform poorly in your dual-credit classes, it may impact your financial aid package and ability to be accepted into a desired major/degree.
